Risks assessment of lightning according to IEC 62305-2, there are 4 ways that lightning could do harm to human or electrical equipment: lightning striking on equipment, lightning near equipment, lightning striking on public facilities (power supply lines, communication lines, etc.), lightning near public facilities. Corresponding injury types are as below: the injury to human from contact and step voltage, physical from lightning effect including sparkle (fire disaster, explosion, mechanical disruption, release of chemical substance) and internal system failure caused by lightning electromagnetic interference. All these risks may lead to losses, including casualties, facility damage and financial loss, etc.


The aim of lightning risks analysis is to find out potential danger of the lightning and quantify it and to analyze the type and grade of the danger based on certain data so as to draw a conclusion if anti-thunder facility of the area can meet the protection requirements, which is treated as the basis of rectification of lightning protection.


PTG Intelligent Lightning Protection Monitoring (PM) System uses advanced sensor detection and network communication technology to monitor, alarm and manage the LP system in real time. Provide three-level alarm before thunderstorm, inform relevant personnel to take preventive measures to reduce the lightning hazard; detect and analyze the magnitude of lightning current energy, number of surge, and record; monitor the SPD status in the whole process, analyze the condition of equipment through the data monitored online, and recognize the distribution of lightning strike in the workplace, and put forward a more comprehensive lightning protection plan.


PTG PM system is suitable for port, petrochemical, electric power, rail transit, intelligent building and other industries. It transmits the operation status of the system to the control center in real time through various transmission methods, displays and stores relevant data, and alarms through voice, SMS and other methods to inform relevant personnel to take corresponding measures, maintain the equipment in time, and ensure the equipment operation.


The main functions of PM system include:

6. Data statistical analysis, chart management, report query and printing;
7. Systematic management of SPD files and maintenance records;
